Anti-aging procedures, like neuromodulators, fillers, and lasers, are the standard in dermatology. They have been proven safe and effective, and they’re not going away anytime soon. On the other hand, facial yoga is non-toxic, non-invasive, and safe for anyone. It is inexpensive, and you can do it on your own time. There does not appear to be much to lose. Apart from the fact that still if you don’t do the exercises with proper guidance, you can cause more wrinkles. Sounds confusing?

It all comes down to two things:
1. Consistency is the Queen
Like with all good things and achievements in life, we need to be disciplined and motivated. According to few researches, it takes three to four weeks of daily 20-30 min practice before you start to notice results. Many people don’t want to wait a month or longer to see results. In other words, unless you are highly motivated, it will not work for you. The other issue that might come up is the question of time one needs to put aside for face yoga. Who has an extra 20-30 min per day? When exercising your facial muscles, it is not about how to get your extra time, but how to use the time you have better.
At the start you should dedicate your time to few sessions, to get expert guidance, and master a routine that works for you. After that, you are set to incorporate face yoga in your usual routines, for example when cooking, or when in the bathroom, when driving, or any moment when you feel comfortable.
You will be amazed how a few minutes here and there can quickly add up to half an hour daily.
2. Proper Technique
Yes, facial exercise can also make the signs of aging more noticeable. The repeated muscle contraction of the upper face (forehead, frown lines, crow’s feet) can cause those lines to become more etched and deeper over time. Following online tutorials without knowing the watch-out areas, without built self-awareness, and without knowing how to correctly do the pose, you just might do yourself harm, and age yourself unintentionally.
To avoid harming yourself with face yoga, simple advice is 1) talk to your dermatologist and 2) get a certified face yoga instructor who will teach you how to carry out the pose properly, beware of the motions that can cause wrinkle formation, and generally make you more aware of your habits and mimics. This will empower you to practice on your own and without risk.
Face yoga will make you look younger. And yes, it works.
P.s. Never forget a good skincare routine and sun protection. Face yoga results vary, too, depending on things like what you eat and drink, how you sleep, your environment, and your genetics.
